Bedford & County A.C. caters for athletes of both sexes and all ages and abilities. The club competes at the highest level in Track, Road, and Cross country. All sections of the Club, men and women, young and old, are achieving success on the track, cross country and on the roads, whilst the Stadium hosts many major meetings each year. Bedford Beagles Club - The summer term of the Saturday morning club started on 26th April 2008. Full details are on the Beagles page of this site.

EVAC Road Race series The series starts with the Reach 5 mile at the beginning of June. There will not now be a closed 10k race at Comberton. Instead the EVAC championship will be combined with the Luton AC open race at the end of July, see the link below for details. The date and venue for the 5km road race is being reconsidered.

Luton AC are organising a series of road races in the summer, 5miles, 5km, 10km starting on Friday 26 June, details are on their web site link

EVAC road relay Sunday 20 April
Our M35+ team finished 3rd and our M55+ 1st

London Marathon Sun 13 April 2008
Liz Yelling finished an excellent 9th in the Elite Womens Race in a time of 2h28m33s. Other club results are on the Results page.

South of England 12 Stage Sun 6 April 2008
The senior mens team were 14th in a time of 4h23m28s

English National Cross Country Champs 2008
Liz Yelling wins the Senior Women's Championship. Our other leading placings -
Jo Wilkinson 4th Senior Women, Darren Deed 12th Senior Men, Ryan Parker 9th U17 Men, Emily Wallbank 5th U15 Girls, Jack Goodwin 9th U15 Boys, Kenneth Mason 6th U13 Boys & Molly McKenzie 15th U13 Girls.
The U15 Boys won their team race, the U15 Girls were second and the U13 Girls were third. Finally the Senior Men were 6th on the 6 to score and 3rd in the 9 to score.
Well done to all who ran.

EVAC XC 17/02/08, club results on the Veterans page

Bedford & County's Senior Men retained their title of South of England Cross Country Champions on Saturday 26 January 2008 for the fourth successive year. The team were led home by Huw Lobb 4th & Darren Deed 5th. They were backed up well by Will Levett 14th, Dan Dalmedo 21st,Owain Matthews 27th and Neil Miller 38th. Congratulations to the team!

Kenneth Mason is U13 boys Southern Champion, Jack Goodwin is 3rd in the U15 Boys race, Ryan Parker is 3rd in the U17 Mens race. Emily Wallbank is 3rd in the U15 girls race. Full race results can be downloaded from the Apex Chiltern League website news page.

European Cross Country Championships 2007
Liz Yelling 10th - winning a silver team medal with senior womens GB team
Katrina Wootton 8th - winning a gold team medal with U23 womens GB team

English Cross Country Relays Saturday 3 November
Bedford and County were prominent in most of the relay races and there were some excellent individual runs and team performances. The Under 15's ran well - boys second, girls second. The senior men were third in a very close finish. Lots of other good team performances including 4th for the U17 Men. full results Our results

Sun 21 October ERRA YA road relays. The U13 boys and U15 boys take bronze medals in the national road relays. U17 men are 5th and U15 girls 8th. Results

Sat 20 October ERRA road relays. The senior women finish 4th in the national 4 stage road relay, the senior mens team finish 7th in the national 6 stage champs. Results

Women promoted to UK womens athletic league after achieving 2nd place in the promotion match on Saturday 15th September. link
